long time no posties

I tend to lurk in the Freeform crochet email list. I occassionally post to people's journals, but I am not sure I have much expertise to add to the list sometimes. However, I have a load of pictures and projects that I need to catch folks up on. I rarely crochet with a pattern and when I do...I umm...well, screw it up. I tend to miss what gauge stuff is supposed to be in lately. So, I have this purse I followed the pattern perfectly but its HUGE. Not finished with it quite yet (very close) but will post when it is.

I really didn't think i'd ever finish this Beret but I'm really happy with it. I'm glad I went thru with it!

This freeform purse is really thick. I need to figure out how the incorporate cloth on the inside to keep people's pens and keys and coins from falling out.

I got some new knitting needles

A friend wasn't using these needles...I'm not sure ever. These are a size 7, I also recieved a size 5 and some double pointed ones. I don't know how to use those yet. I've been chicken for some reason. Probably because it took me so darn long to figure out how to knit and it takes me so long to do any knitting project that they never get finished. Woah is me.

Anyway, I love the way these needles feel and the nice small knit they create.

About a week and half ago I Made this sad little teddy bear. Next time I'll use a pattern. eek. I have him finishe around here somewhere, I'll add him to the entry later.

new Journal, new craft

When my daughter was born, I had to find away to get thru post-partum depression and grieving for my mother who died 3 weeks after said daughter's birth. So I started knitting on this thing called "the Nifty Knitter". Then I was bound and determined to really knit. I figured that out but found it tedious. So, the next thing I tried was crochet. This was an awesome medium for me.

I jumped into a million projects at once. Pictured in this post was a project that happened when I had too many granny squares sitting around.

Now I want to do much more freeform and keep rollin' with it.

ENJOY! (or don't, its up to you)
